Weekly Update Dec. 17th

December 17, 2008

Hello everyone, hard to believe but 2008 has come and gone so fast we’ve barely had any time for reflection. It may be hard to do with the supersonic pace most of us grow accustomed to, but it’s my personal desire this year to hit the ‘pause’ button and reflect for a moment on the unsurpassed glory of the incarnation of our Lord Jesus Christ. Nothing is worth celebrating more than that!

This coming Sunday night we are proud to be present our Almost Acoustic Christmas party at our Dec. 21 Sunday 5:00 pm gathering. It’s still a church service yet also a party, a chance to reflect in silence and a chance to laugh and celebrate with each other. Hope to see you there.

For those of you college aged party people, we are part of a Tijuana Christmas Party taking place tomorrow Dec. 18th at New Covenant Church, 1744 E. Nees Ave, at 7:00 pm. There will be food, fun and Salsa Dancing (lesson included) so you don’t want to miss it.

In honor of the holidays, the next couple of weeks there will be no Conversations class on Sunday mornings. The class will resume in the new year with some new wrinkles. Stay tuned for more details.

This coming Friday night, We Are One partners Ephraim clothing are sponsoring The Unseen Show benefit concert to to build an Art School for girls rescued from brothels and the sex slave trade. The show begins at 6:45 pm and costs $5.

Next Monday Dec. 22, we have an opportunity to serve at Community Food Bank, helping load boxes of prepared food into cars to deliver them to needy families. Message us for more details!

Merry Christmas and God bless,

Ryan

We Are One

December 15, 2008

We Are One was a big success. We raised close to $3500 and lots of food for the Community Food Bank. We are still accepting non-perishable food donations at the church if you are still interested in donating.
